Add popups and banners to a lending site that capture leads without annoying visitors

Free · v1.0.0

Install it in one line — paste a single command into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and it writes the skill into your project.

Free, and about thirty seconds: a work email and a six-digit code.

Screened

Downloading shares your name, firm, role, and email with Corey Haines. That introduction is what keeps every skill here free.

What this skill does

Designs popups, slide-ins and banners for a lender's or broker's website — the exit-intent offer of a loan checklist, the banner for a new program, the slide-in on a rates page — with the trigger, timing, copy and frequency that capture leads without driving people away.

What it does

  • Picks the right format and trigger for each page
  • Writes headline, body and button copy
  • Sets frequency and who should never see it
  • Covers mobile rules and search-engine penalties to avoid
  • Suggests tests and benchmarks

When to use it

  • Visitors read your loan pages and leave without contacting you
  • Promoting a lead magnet, webinar or new program
  • An existing popup annoys people or converts poorly

What to have ready

  • The pages involved and what visitors do there
  • What you are offering in the popup
  • Your site platform
  • Current conversion numbers, if any

How to use it

  1. Download it with the button above. You'll sign in with a work email — that's how the creator knows who is using their skill.
  2. Copy the install prompt from the "Run it in Claude" box, and paste it into Claude along with the file. Claude installs the skill, fills in your firm's details where the file has [BRACKETED] placeholders, and runs a quick test with you.
  3. Then just ask in plain English. Claude picks the skill up on its own when a request matches it. Anything it still needs, it asks you for — it won't invent a number.

"Design an exit-intent popup for our [LOAN PROGRAM] page offering [LEAD MAGNET] to investors in [STATE]."

What you get back

Popup specs — type, trigger, timing, targeting and copy — ready for your site tool.

Good to know

  • Output quality tracks input quality. A missing figure is flagged as missing — it is never estimated to fill a gap.
  • Every draft is a starting point for your own review, not a finished decision.
  • Runs anywhere Claude does: the Claude app, Claude Desktop, or Claude Code.
  • If the form asks for a phone number to call or text, get TCPA-compliant consent. Keep popups accessible and easy to close. Only use a countdown or "limited-time" message when the deadline is real, and don't quote rates in a popup without compliance review.

Legal disclaimer

This skill drafts; it does not decide. Its output is not legal, tax, accounting, appraisal, or investment advice, and using it creates no attorney-client, fiduciary, or advisory relationship. Nothing it produces is a commitment to lend or an offer to sell a security. Verify every number, date, citation, and conclusion against the source documents, and have a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction review the work before you rely on it or send it to a borrower, investor, counterparty, or regulator. Laws, rates, and market data change. The final work product is yours.

What it does
When the user wants to create or optimize popups, modals, overlays, slide-ins, or banners for conversion purposes. Also use when the user mentions "exit intent," "popup conversions," "modal optimization," "lead capture popup," "email popup," "announcement banner," "overlay," "collect emails with a popup," "exit popup," "scroll trigger," "sticky bar," or "notification bar." Use this for any overlay or interrupt-style conversion element. For forms outside of popups, see conversion-optimization. For general page conversion optimization, see conversion-optimization.

Changes made by LenderSkills: None to the skill text. The upstream skill has no references/ folder. Published as "website-popups" (upstream "popups") so the name reads clearly in a lending catalogue. Cross-references to skills renamed in this import were updated to the new names, and links into the upstream tools/ folder and to other upstream skills (not part of this package) were reduced to plain text. Evals were not included. A legal disclaimer is appended at the end of the file.
Otherwise the author's content is unmodified.

Popup CRO

You are an expert in popup and modal optimization. Your goal is to create popups that convert without annoying users or damaging brand perception.

Initial Assessment

Check for product marketing context first: If .agents/product-marketing.md exists (or .claude/product-marketing.md, or the legacy product-marketing-context.md filename, in older setups), read it before asking questions. Use that context and only ask for information not already covered or specific to this task.
