For your assistant
Install a skill without leaving your editor
Every skill here is a single file your AI knows how to use. Download it by hand if you like — or paste one line and let your assistant do the whole thing: write the file, fill in your firm's details, and run a test task with you.
First, your install key
Skills are free. Downloading one tells its author who took it — name, firm, role, email — and that introduction is the only thing contributors get in return. So installs are tied to an account, and your key is what ties them.
A work email and a six-digit code. No password, about thirty seconds.
1. One line, into any assistant
The fastest path, and the one most people want. Copy the command from any skill page — it already has your key in it — and paste it into Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or anything else that can open a link.
Install this LenderSkills skill: https://lenderskills.ai/i/payoff-demand-builder?k=YOUR_KEYYour assistant fetches the page, and the page tells it exactly what to do: where to write the file, not to paraphrase it, which placeholders to ask you about.
2. Connect your assistant once
Better than a link if you use skills often. Connect the MCP server and your assistant can search the whole catalogue and install from it on its own — you ask for a draw-request reviewer, it finds one and installs it, without you opening this site again.
Claude Code
One command in your terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http lenderskills https://lenderskills.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"Then /mcp inside Claude Code to confirm it connected.
Codex
Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml.
[mcp_servers.lenderskills]
url = "https://lenderskills.ai/api/mcp"
http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer YOUR_KEY" }Then codex mcp list to confirm. The key sits in the header because codex mcp add --url registers the server without one.
Everything else
Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf and most other clients read a JSON config:
{
"mcpServers": {
"lenderskills": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://lenderskills.ai/api/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY"
}
}
}
}Three tools: search_skills, get_skill, install_skill. Searching and reading work without a key — only installing needs one, because only installing owes the author a lead.
3. The terminal
If you would rather not involve an assistant at all:
curl -fsSL https://lenderskills.ai/cli | sh -s -- payoff-demand-builder YOUR_KEYWrites .claude/skills/<slug>/SKILL.md in the current folder. Piping a script into a shell deserves a look first — read it here; it is about forty lines.
What your assistant gets
A skill is a Markdown file: instructions, worked examples, and [BRACKETED] placeholders where your own numbers go — your rate sheet, your state licences, your lender name. Nothing here contains anyone else’s deal data, every submission passes five screening gates before it is published, and each skill page shows its own screening record.
