Event Lead Follow-Up Sequencer
Turn conference badge scans into personal follow-ups and a 14-day plan before leads cool
Install it in one line — paste a single command into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and it writes the skill into your project.
Free, and about thirty seconds: a work email and a six-digit code.
Downloading shares your name, firm, role, and email with The Helvetica Group. That introduction is what keeps every skill here free.
What this skill does
Gets you through the week after a conference before the leads go cold. It sorts your badge scans and business cards by who they are and how hot they are, drafts a personal first message that refers back to the conversation you actually had, and lays out two weeks of follow-up with an owner and a date for each. Draft-only; you send.
What it does
- Cleans the list: merges duplicates, pulls out existing clients for their relationship owner, and flags leads outside your lending box
- Sorts every lead by type (borrower, broker, capital partner, peer lender, vendor) and by heat (hot, warm, cold)
- Writes a short, personal first message from your notes, and leaves a placeholder rather than inventing a conversation
- Tailors the ask by type: terms for a borrower's live deal, a call with a broker, a conversation (not a pitch) with a capital partner
- Builds a 14-day calendar with no more than four touches for anyone who hasn't replied
- Flags what to check: a badge scan is not a newsletter sign-up, email basics, texting consent, non-US contacts and investor communications
When to use it
- The day you get back from a conference or trade show
- You have a stack of business cards and no plan
- Several people on your team met leads at the same event
- You want the event leads loaded into your CRM with next steps
What to have ready
- The lead list or badge-scan export
- Whatever notes you took on each conversation
- The event name and dates
- What you offer and your lending box, plus who on the team met whom
How to use it
- Download it with the button above. You'll sign in with a work email — that's how the creator knows who is using their skill.
- Copy the install prompt from the "Run it in Claude" box, and paste it into Claude along with the file. Claude installs the skill, fills in your firm's details where the file has
[BRACKETED]placeholders, and runs a quick test with you. - Then just ask in plain English. Claude picks the skill up on its own when a request matches it. Anything it still needs, it asks you for — it won't invent a number.
"We're back from [EVENT] with [NUMBER] badge scans and notes from three of us. Sort them, draft the follow-ups, and give us a two-week plan. We lend on bridge and DSCR loans in [STATES]."
What you get back
A triage table, personal first-message drafts with the hot leads first, a 14-day follow-up calendar, CRM-ready columns and a check-before-sending list.
Good to know
- Output quality tracks input quality. A missing figure is flagged as missing — it is never estimated to fill a gap.
- Every draft is a starting point for your own review, not a finished decision.
- Runs anywhere Claude does: the Claude app, Claude Desktop, or Claude Code.
- It never invents a conversation or guesses an email address, and it keeps capital-partner follow-ups free of offering terms until your investor relations lead and counsel have cleared them.
Legal disclaimer
This skill drafts; it does not decide. Its output is not legal, tax, accounting, appraisal, or investment advice, and using it creates no attorney-client, fiduciary, or advisory relationship. Nothing it produces is a commitment to lend or an offer to sell a security. Verify every number, date, citation, and conclusion against the source documents, and have a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction review the work before you rely on it or send it to a borrower, investor, counterparty, or regulator. Event Lead Follow-Up Sequencer
Lenders spend real money on booths and badges and then lose most of the value in the week after the show: the hot broker with a live deal waits four days for a reply, the capital partner gets the same generic email as a software vendor, and half the business cards never make it into the CRM. The window is short — people remember the conversation for a few days. This skill sorts the list so the best leads get a personal message first, writes each message from what was actually said, and schedules the next two weeks so nobody is forgotten or chased too hard.
Works for private lenders, brokers and fund managers after any industry event: national and regional lending conferences, real estate investor meetups, broker events, capital-raising events and trade shows. Use general email-sequence skills for ongoing nurture campaigns; this one handles the two weeks after a specific event.
Step 1 — Intake
| Input | Required? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lead list | ✅ | Badge-scan export, transcribed business cards, a spreadsheet or a pasted list — name, company, title, email, phone if given |
| Conversation notes | ✅ | Whatever was captured: the scan app's notes field, voice memos, "met at booth, has a 6-unit in [CITY]." Leads without notes are handled, but get a lighter touch |
| Event name and dates | ✅ | Day 0 of the cadence is the day after the event ends |
| Who met each lead | Helpful | The team member who had the conversation should send the follow-up |
| What you offer | ✅ | Loan programs and lending box (states, sizes, products), or brokerage services, or the fund's investor relations contact |
| Existing CRM relationships | Helpful | Current clients, brokers and investors — they get a personal note from their relationship owner, not a sequence |
| How contact details were collected | ✅ | Badge scan, card handed over, signed up for the newsletter at the booth, scanned at a session — decides what messages are appropriate |
| Sender details and links | For drafts | [SENDER NAME], [TITLE], [CALENDAR LINK], [PROGRAM SHEET LINK] placeholders if not supplied |
Minimum viable: the list and the event dates. With no notes at all, the output is a sorted list and a short, honest "good to meet you at [EVENT]" draft with a placeholder for a personal line.
