Free, and about thirty seconds: a work email and a six-digit code.
Downloading shares your name, firm, role, and email with Mohit Aggarwal. That introduction is what keeps every skill here free.
What this skill does
Reviews a contractor's bid the way an experienced estimator would before it is signed: what scope is missing or excluded, which exclusions quietly move risk back to the owner, which prices are out of line, and whether the schedule of values is front-loaded — the pattern that leaves too little money to finish if the job goes bad.
What it does
- Reconciles the bid to the drawings and specs and lists every missing, excluded or qualified item
- Rates each exclusion by who ends up holding the risk
- Flags outlier unit prices, unbalanced bidding and allowances standing in for real cost
- Checks the schedule of values for front-loading
- Recommends award, award with clarifications, or reject, with a list of questions for the bidder
When to use it
- A construction loan budget rests on a contractor bid
- Comparing two or more bids
- Before the borrower signs with the GC
What to have ready
- The bid, with exclusions, allowances and schedule of values
- The scope of work, drawings list or specs
- Contract type (lump sum, GMP, unit price)
- Competing bids or an estimate, if available
How to use it
- Download it with the button above. You'll sign in with a work email — that's how the creator knows who is using their skill.
- Copy the install prompt from the "Run it in Claude" box, and paste it into Claude along with the file. Claude installs the skill, fills in your firm's details where the file has
[BRACKETED]placeholders, and runs a quick test with you. - Then just ask in plain English. Claude picks the skill up on its own when a request matches it. Anything it still needs, it asks you for — it won't invent a number.
"Review [CONTRACTOR]'s $[AMOUNT] bid for [PROJECT] against the attached scope. What's missing, and is the schedule of values front-loaded?"
What you get back
A bid review with a scope gap register, exclusions risk table, pricing red flags, front-loading findings and pre-award clarification questions.
Good to know
- Output quality tracks input quality. A missing figure is flagged as missing — it is never estimated to fill a gap.
- Every draft is a starting point for your own review, not a finished decision.
- Runs anywhere Claude does: the Claude app, Claude Desktop, or Claude Code.
- Percentage thresholds are the author's rules of thumb, not standards. For rehab and fix-and-flip budgets, a budget review built for that product fits better; this is for bid-based construction.

Bid / Tender Review Skill
A low bid is only cheap if the scope is actually in it. This skill runs the review an experienced estimator or owner's rep would run before award: reconcile the bid against the bid documents, hunt the exclusions and qualifications that quietly shift risk back to the buyer, test unit rates against sanity ranges, and check the schedule of values for front-loading. The goal is a levelled, apples-to-apples view and a written list of what to clarify before signing — not after mobilisation.
